Characteristic and thermal stimulated depolarization current of poly (vinyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate-co-2-hydroxy propyl acrylate) Znonanocomposite

Abstract


The present work was aiming to study the optical and thermally stimulated electrical properties of terpolymer poly (vinyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate-co-2-hydroxy propyl acrylate) (PVVH) and its ZnOnanocomposites by using UV-vis spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, DSC and thermal stimulated depolarization current (TSDC) technique. The optical energy band gap was calculated from UV-vis spectra and showed that the band gap energy decrease with increasing ZnO nanoparticles concentration, then XRD was studied and confirmed that ZnO is completely dissolved in the polymer matrix. Also, DSC confirm that the glass transition temperature depending on the concentration of ZnO in nanocomposite polymer. The TSCD Spectra of PVVH with the varying poling field present a single peak at temperature around (T=341 8) K. These peaks are ascribed to the glass temperature and can be referred as alpha relaxation. The molecular parameters, such as activation energy (Ea) and pre-exponential factor (τ0), have been estimated.
